Any of you guys out there with a nackered back, I have and need to fit seats that are comfortable and support me to allow me to off road.

Saw bucket seats fitted in several bowlers and since these vehicles pound the driver wondered if this is the way to go, with a harness.

Anybody with back problems, and it seems that it's common, could you give us your views, and the ones who drive the bowlers, could you tell us if the seats work for you, if you can sit in them for long periods etc.

Saw the thread about fitting other vehicles seats, but my son drives a corsa sxi and his seats kill my back, so it could be a bad choice unless you try them first, and you need to drive in them for about an hour to really test them.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi
I am 6'4" and have always suffered with back pain when driving for long periods, i have lost count of all the cars i have owned but the ones that i remember as being most comfortable seats were a 1984 ford orion, seats were superb, later years had changed seats. My current TD5 i find the seats to be superb, recently did 4 hours in the seat with only a 15 minute break, no back ache at all. Suprisingly my last car was an audi a6 top of the range with leather etc and no matter how i set the seat i could not drive it for more than an hour at a time, so much for prestige luxury!!!!

My other vehicle (other than a 300tdi ES) is a saab 9-5 (vector) and I have to say that even though the landy seats are comfy, it is always a pleasure to sit into the saab sports seats. A good mate liked them so much, he trawled ebay and got a full interior from a 03 9-5 and installed the front seats in his VW transporter T5, which is now quite tricked out.

Bottom line, I recommend the saab seats but don't know if it ipractical to try to install them. Do you have the landy leather seats?
