I'm looking at a roof tent this weekend :)

What is the best roof rack to fit it too? or would I need to buy 1 rack then modify it so that it fits?

If anyone knows of a decent rack for sale then please let me know.

thanks and regards

Neil

The flatdog ones are pretty awesome and not too expensive for what you get (compared to Patriot, hannibal etc.). If you are going to the LRO show they have them there at a decent discount (20% IIRC) and fit them for you

Oh, and roof tents fit straight on, I have one on now

thanks for that, they look good, but for that price could I get a rack similar to the g4 rack? and are the g4 style racks ok for roof tents?

A quick google shows they are getting closer to £1k I think. Don't quote me on that though!

I have had my rack on for nearly a year now and am pretty impressed with it. It didn't fit the freelander so well to get it back from LRO last year mind :D

Flatdog Rax all the way... wouldn't even consider a different one tbh... for their prices you'd find it hard to find one of a similar build quality elsewhere tbh...

As James says they do great deals at the shows and free fitting on all their products. :)

We bought a lot of straps at LRO and strapped it onto the roof bars, was a bit scary when the wind hit though...

One thing about those is it looks like they are steel which makes them heavier and prone to rusting if you need to drill them for the roof tent (which I had to). FD ones are ali which makes them lighter and longer lasting.

That said, I do like the look of the first one. The second one needs to sort his house roof out :D

blimey! at least you managed to get it home.

I messaged the 1st 1, they are steel. the 2nd 1 defo needs to fix their roof lol (I hadn't noticed)

with the flat dog rack you have on your disco, can you still open the sun roofs?

HANNIBAL.. . Aircraft grade aluminium, enough said, one person can lift an entire 110 rr onto the landrover and its as strong as can be with complete gutter mounts.

Forget price the max load for a roof is already virtually exceeded with a roof tent (UK) so you need it to be as light as possible.

If you are strapped I would just get a couple of roof bars, cheaper and do the job.

Heartbreakingly you will need to drill holes :(
