Best Green Paint

Looking at painting with olive green matt paint
Anyone suggest a good brand please

Nato Green Satin or Olive Drab Matt, are they similar colours, Satin or Matt ?

I have used BC Paints off eBay in semi gloss and it is a good product. The semi gloss/satin dulls down to almost matt but experience tells me it's a damp site stronger than full matt. Stays cleaner longer anorl.

Do you mean for a roughish/easy job?

I've used Rustoleum 2X aerosols on a few things. There was an orange that matched my 72 VW really well, and I recently painted my Disco bonnet with Hunter Green.

They're cheap per can ( here in NZ anyway, NZ$13), cover well (1 can did the bonnet and a few test patches) and it lasts pretty well, especially once it's hardens for a few weeks. Super easy to touch up when required.

Bodywork in very straight condition, had odd door fitted and a couple of panels in primer so I was thinking I could roller the Nato paint on and get a good finish,

Plenty of people in the US use Rustoleum with a roller.

I believe there is a product that can tone down the ultra glossiness of 2k paint to more closely resemble the finish of cellulose, perhaps it can also help to achieve matt or semi-gloss.

Never seen nor used it ( but I did read about it in a classic car mag)... I'd find a friendly body-shop or paint supplier and ask them the question, then you can have any colour you wish in the level of sheen you desire.

Nato Green is not Grey. It is not really a Green Green colour either, more of an earthy colour.
The best solution, would be to see a colour chart in person. Generally your local decorative merchant have BS and Ral colour chart
for people to glance over, to enable correct colour confirmations.

I bought this paint, smells like Hammerite but not as thick and sticky, covers well and about a third the price of Rustolem/Hammerite

I was hoping to be able to buy Nato green satin and it be a green colour

NATO Green from Blanchards. Easy on, good coverage, no problems.

Get the BS or Ral colour and order it.

Reason I asked about the paint colour was that I had seen pictures of a van painted in the colour and he told me the code and where he got it from. On looking at their charts it looked grey rather than green so I assumed the chart was wrong , either that or my friend with the van was telling porkies

I use Tractol paints - on the bay or from local ag suppliers - very good IME - full range of RAL and BS colours too

A good bit cheaper per litre.

Got it 10 quid a gallon cheaper than Amazon and very good paint too, it's also military nato green although it doesn't look it on the chart
