I've going to change the engine oil this weekend if the weather holds.

Whats the best oil for a Disco 2 4.0 ES LPG? I've got 109k on the clock

regards

I thought the use of engine flush would help to perrish seals and rings?

I usually change the oil every 5 - 6 k, however being new to me I am not sure what condition or how long ago the oil was changed so a flush might be a good investment.

No mate. Try to find a place that will sell you some Forte this is the best flush money can buy, i'm a bit of a geek really as i've tried pretty much all of them, acp, wurth, add it, wynns etc and none of them work as well. Leave it in as long as you can preferably fast idling 1500 rpm.

cheers fella,

Vauxhall sell it as I was in there the other day getting parts for my vectra and saw the Forte add on the wall. this I will pop in on the way home.

It's the wrong viscosity for TDi engine, also what spec is it?

Rubbish!

Who says so?

So YOU reckon YOU know better what **I** am doing with MY TD5 huh?

That's clever.

Maybe you will explain why a premium quality diesel 15w-40 is "wrong" fro MY engine.

I think you believe anything you're told by oil companies trying to make big bucks.

For your TD5 5w/30 is the only viscosity recommended, dont have a go at me i didn't build it. If you use oil that's too thick it will not protect your engine as well because the machining tolerances are too close for the thicker oil to get between the metal faces, this is what is recommended by LR not me you should ask them why it's important.
