Best Battery(ies) for a 127 3.5?

The battery in my 127 is starting to not hold its charge so I'm looking for a replacement. The original spec is two 069s, I think, which is what it had when I bought it. However, for some reason that escapes me now, the current one is a single 663.

What do people think is best: the two originals or one big one? What about makes of batteries? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Get yourself the biggest Yuasa, Bosch etc battery that will fit.

I did a lot of research into this earlier in the year and came to the conclusion that although 2 batteries do have benefits they also have some big downfalls if something goes wrong.

2 batteries in parallel need to be identical and bought and fitted at the same time to work properly, if one dies or starts to fail early it will bring the second one down so you can end up with two dead batteries, so really you are stuck in the same situation you would be in if you only had 1 big single.

Only benefits to 2 smaller batteries in parallel is that you can possibly wedge more battery into the space, but lets be honest here, one good brand battery with a good CCA rating is fine.

Also try to look after your battery, very rarely turn on the engine then off again, especially in the cold, try to let it run for at least 15 minutes before you turn it off, if you do need to do lots of short stop starts it's good to give your battery a top up (while in vehicle and connected is fine) with a GOOD charger. Try not to ever let the battery get depleted significantly etc. all these things will lead to a battery lasting a really good long time.
