I accidentally shut something in the top of the tailgate on my discovery 1 and think I've bent it! The tailgate closes as it should, but there's a gap at the top between the tailgate and the rubber seal. I reckon the top of the tailgate needs to sit about 15 - 20mm further back than it is at the moment. I was thinking of using a block of wood and bottle jack against a wall and trying to just push it back where it should be. Anyone got any better ideas? I'm worried about breaking the glass.

It's not that sort of bend mate. The tailgate doesn't look bent, its just not sitting back in the recess enough at the top.

I adjusted the top hinge and used some wood and a jack to try to push the tailgate back where it should be. It looks OK now and the seal is compressed all the way round, so that's good enough. Having spent a bit of time and effort on it today, I'm not convinced my little mishap was enough to throw the door out that much. It was probably always out and I just never noticed.
