Lol, I had a mental fight. It looked like:
Me 1: This aft?
Me 2: Suppose he means this afternoon
Me 1: Yea, that'd make sense
Me 2: (pat on the back)
Me 1: Wait! This afternoon???? I've already had dinner!
Me 2: Annndddddddd?????????
Me 1: It can't mean afternoon after all!!!!! (Yay, got one up on 'Me 2')
Me 2: Yeah it can, you're on the other side of the world. Of course there's a time difference....
Me 1: Duh! Still can't get one up on 'Me 2'!!!!!

If the voices ever tell you to take up a career in teaching, don't listen to them! :D

Got the car back from SpannerMonkeys.

I'm very happy.

The rebuilt gearbox & transfer box performed brilliantly on the way back down from Newcastle.

Think the clutch master might need replacing though, Pete & Bret had fun trying to bleed the clutch up, so I'll probably replace it before heading to france.

A few pics....

The G & T boxes that I rebuilt:

Time to clean up those axles at some point!

Some bits that need to go back on this weekedn...

The new OME suspension is bloody brilliant, the ride quality is fantastic :D

It honestly feels completely different, unladen the TF suspension would have the car crashing over every bump, it only really got comfy with a lot of weight in.

The OME stuff is comfy laden or not, I drove back from Newcastle with a gearbox, tbox, 4 used shocks and springs, x-brake, subwoofer, and some oil in the back and it was lovely. Took it all out at home and went for a burn and it was still lovely, even on the crappy hudddersfield roads. VERY impressed.

I went for the extreme duty rear springs and bullbar+ winch fronts...

2763 rear springs & 2779 fronts

Interesting.... cause I was looking at buying some Terrafirma springs and shocks but decided not to because of the price. I'm now thinking most likely some long travel progressive springs from Extreme 4X4 but also I'm a bit interested by the Devotech springs, however they don't have the correct lift for me :(

Finally got round to fitting the YRM galved mud flaps...

Complete ballache of a job, had to get the wheels off to get a grinder in to remove the factory steel rivets....

Cracking thread. I'm only up to page 3 so far. I've just got a 2001 td5 the same colour with a beige interior. Needs a little bit of tidying up but I'd be happy if it looked half as good as yours. What size rubber were you running before you fitted the lift kit? I'd like to keep mine standard height but I have a virtually brand new set of BF Goodrich ATs in 235/85/16 that I want to fit to modular wheels and stick on. Is this feasible without a lift?

Before the lift it was stock tyres, 255/55/r16 on boring alloys. I put 265/65/16's on next but had already lifted it. Don't think you'll get away with those 235/85's without a lift and possibly some front bumper trimming tbh, maybe just give it a go and see...

Glad you're finding the thread interesting, cheers.
