Hi, I got back from uni yesterday to find my 90 had dumped most of its engine oil on the floor  (a few words came to mind..) anyway most of the oil appears to be around the bellhousing and theres also some slightly above the oil filter on the drivers side of the engine.

I'll post some images tomorrow afternoon, but if the bellhousing gasket needs replacing what sort of price am i looking at here, i am bracing myself as i guess its an engine/transmission out type job.

Thanks

Ollie

Bellhousing gasket? If the oil appears to be coming out of the bellhousing it's probably coming from the crankshaft oil seal so yes it's an engine out job. Have you got a wading plug in the bottom of the bell housing? There should be a threaded hole there to allow any oil leakage to drain away wothout contaminationg the clutch. Have a look.

Id say he means the flywheel housing , is the oil running down the front of the housing ?
- mine is doing the same thing and making a mess of my drive .
Gearbox has to come out , and flywheel housing has to be removed to change the gasket/oil seal .
havent had the time to do mine yet .

Oh yeah, it sounds like the flywheel housing to me, i havent had chance to have a look today and grap some piccies, but im pretty sure there was a small hole in the bottom of the housing, although as this is a bit beyond my skills if it'll start and the clutch is ok i'll take it to my local garage.

by the way if it is an engine/gearbox out job, i know its a how long is a piece of string type question, depending on other problems etc, but what sort of price should i expect roughly??

thanks

Ollie
