Belated 'New Member'

I've been a member of this forum for a few months and have never filled this out.
I bought my first Land Rover in the Spring of this year. It is a 2002 Discovery 2.
I'm currently in Yorkshire but relocating to Caithness and the vehicle has already done three trips.
Apart from the immobiliser (the horn sounds for no apparent reason frequently when I'm locking the vehicle, even though all doors are fully closed), I'm very pleased with the car.
I am an amateur with car repairs, but with the help of Haynes, I have looked after a twenty year old Fiat for many years. I've begun doing the same with my D2 and thanks to the help of the kind people on this forum. I've waxed the underbody and changed the oil (plus filters) so far. Hopefully I can provide help to others as I get more familiar with the vehicle.

Horn sounding means the car thinks a door/bonnet is open.

Lynall: Thanks. I know that the car thinks a door is open, and it doesn't do it all the time. But it does it when all doors and the bonnet are properly closed. I can live with it.

Don't they also do it when the battery in the key is getting low ?
