Hi all. Was told to check this section out as at some green lane days the more experienced members show the inexperienced ones a thing or two. I was just wondering if there were any specific events where I could learn a thing or 2 about my fantastically reliable freelander (signs to look out for, basic repairs and maintenance etc)

Oh and if there are do you know of any near Bristol?

Thanks

Carpy seems to spend a lot of time up and down to wales so maybe he would be up for some lanes in your neck of the woods. I don't actually know of any myself but there are OS maps that will help you find legal lanes to drive.

Hook up with a local club, they will have a green lanes chappie who will give you all the info you need, and offer advice.

Of course we're always willing to offer our collective wisdom (in my case that doesn't take long!)

Keep an eye out on here, usually quite a few from bristol/Yeovil and Sailbury direction go out for a play regular, worth going out with the chaps off here, I learnt alot last time I went out, including how sink a Disco!! And I blame that entirely on Dorset Vogue (I should have known better!!), so what ever you do, DONT do what he says, your break something!!! :rolly:

yea i have done a fair few lanes in the bristol and south wales area.

if i am ever down in your neck of the woods i can drop you a line if you like, if you are up for some lanes in the area. i know a number and have OS maps for the area also, so i would definitely be up for it if i am about

thats no problem at all, can go at your pace, you dont have to drive anything you arent comfortable with. as long as you have some recovery points so i can get you out if you get stuck it will be fine

everyone was a novice at some point!

i will drop you a line next time i have some free time over your neck of the woods, may well be over the xmas break time

I do a run from Farnborough to Swansea every week - would get them bit closer to you if that's any help?

Thanks Sniffle... We get to see carpy from time to time... he shows up to get muddy now and again so I would be able to pick them up from him quite easily. Appreciate the offer though :)
