Hi,

My P38 has been in for the dreaded blend motors. All was well before it went in but after the job the problems start. When the ignition key is inserted none of the lights come on like abs, temp etc. It does come up with "Ingition Key Inserted" and the mileage. It want crank either.

The BECM was taken out and it looked as if a couple of tracks where burnt. The BECM was sent away and repaired. The other odd thing is that fuse 33 keeps blowing. We have tried a new fuse box. This didn't make any difference?

Any suggestions gratfully received.

Regards :cool:

As far as I know is was "Terrain Vehicles". I think they then passed it on to someone else. This was done in a bit of a panic.

Who did the blends for you? I note you are Norwich based, but local main stealers are completely useless in Norwich, so I assume it wasn't them as they quoted £1200 labour plus cost of motors (another £200+)

Surely whoever the garage is, will need to present the car back to you in working order and it shouldn't be your problem right now, although very inconvenient!! :doh::eek:

Yes and no. Me and the garage do a bit of business between us. You are right about the main dealers.

Try and get them to sort it out first.

yes it might come to that. Need to find out whether the problem is BECM related though. I think there may be a wire trapped behind the dash. Fuse 33 supplys the battery of the alarm system as well. This threw me how I could measure +12v on the diagnostic port with no fuse in the fuse box.

Cheers

Turned out to be the following;

1) Broken signal wire from iginition.
2) 2 x corroded pin in multiway connector.

A steep learning curve I can tell you.
