Had to change the rear diff on my 300tdi a while back. Used the one off my rebuild(ha ha) project. I now get a hissing noise when I lift off the throttle. Disappears when I put the clutch in. Didn't do it before I changed the diff. Just done the rear wheel bearings as well.
Its obviously a bearing somewhere. Has anyone else had this and do you think its an immediate problem. Diff looked OK when I changed it but you can't see everything.
