Usual BCU problem of immobilisation of the engine. Can I re-programme the BCU with Nanocom and if so, has anyone bought one recently? They seem to be based in Cyprus; anyone know who sells them in the UK?

If the car is immobilised then a nanocom will not talk to the car. It is part of the security feature. Are you talking about fitting a new BCU which you know works? what is wrong with your current BCU? is it knackered which is why it will not re mobilise?

If however you can get the car mobilised then you can get a hawkeye , lynx or nanocom to talk to the car. BBS who make nanocoms are based in Cyprus, I ordered mine from them, only took a few days to arrive.

Although since brexit they have got more expensive, might be worth seeing if anyone is outting together a group buy in the long term and find someone local with a nanocm who can help you if you need to program the BCU.

Cheers

The original seems to indicate that it is indeed knackered. Key turns, 6 chimes, red LED flashing like crazy, D with a line through it. I bought a second hand unit from a guy breaking his car so just needs re-programming (I hope).

I thought it might be easier to have my own unit rather than rely on someone else.

Yep, sounds Fubarred,

in that case BBS are your best bet, I found they are very quick, once you get it delivered, via email you get an unlock code from them and away you go.

Good luck,

Cheers

It's not permannent at all, that's why is called "Emergency Key Acces" code, it's to remobilise it if your fob fails to work and be able to drive it untill you fix it... it will stay remobilised after EKA only untill the ignition is off then you'll have to use it again... so when nanocom arrives use EKA then you'll be able to comunicate with the BCU
