Battery

what battery should i use on my disco, it has some old jobby that iv had sitting around and now struggles to turn the old disco over. i do have a winch fitted but does not get used much, only looking to spend around £100 if that helps oh and its a 300 tdi manual with winch

I bought an alphaline battery last week (having seen a recommendation on a thread) from performance batteries. Top notch service and the battery has been great so far! They also do a Varta one for a bit more money if your looking for a little more capacity. Whatever you choose, you'll need a type 072 battery to fit in the tray, although you may be able to fit a bigger battery in if you adapt the tray.

without modding the tray a battery out of a 7.5 tonne lorry will fit (abit tight but does fit)
but just buy the biggest battery you can get in the the tray with the highest cold cranking amps you can get on your budget

i bought a replacement for £125 which aint bad as the one it replaced was 9 years old the old one died last cold spell

Don't want to thread jack, or butt in with stupid advice, but I have noticed a lot of places selling "Optima 35 Red Top Batteries", I know nothing about them, but I'm guessing they are decent batteries?

I know they are very expensive, but are they any better than standard batteries, - worth the money? - Just putting it out there incase you haven't concidered them.
