battery

My battery is on the way out - if the engine doesnt fire first turn then its time to push.

I've noticed that batteries for commercial vehicles seem to be cheaper than for cars - and that there is spare space around the battery in my Tdi disco. Has anyone fitted a larger (and cheaper) battery than the recommended type ??

go to a agricultural supplier and buy the biggest tractor battery that will physically fit - then spend the £50 you will have saved on beer and curry

I agree with Sean, always go to the farm suppliers for batteries and while you're there get a drum of universal tractor oil and save even more £££'s = more beer & curry.

Sean hit the nail on the head - you need to make sure it will physically fit. You are quite limited on the disco 1, there is not much space under the bonnet and I doubt if anything agricultural would fit.
