I am a first time Landy owner can someone please help me, with the following problem. I have a Discovery 2 which has sat for a few weeks and now has a flat battery. We charged the battery but the key fobs don't work now and the alarm keeps going off. I don't know what to do as we cant start it until the key fobs work and we cant charge the battery because the alarm goes off and bothers the neighbours.

Hope someone can help as my husband has now threatened to sell it if I can't get the problem resolved.

Thank you

Do you have the owners handbook? ** If so look under alarms and immobilser (page 34 in mine). This tells you how to use the key to enter the Emergency Key Access code (EKA). If you don't have the EKA number (on a card in your handbook) you will need to go to a LR main dealer, they should be able to tell you the EKA.

** If not then post back here and someone will point you in the right direction - you will still need the EKA though.

PS :welcome2: to Landyzone

isnt there also somethin about syncronisin the fobs by pressing the lock button four times?.....im just glad my 200tdi hasnt got these "enhancements"

First:- a husband who wants to sell the Disco because of this little problem? Get rid of husband and find a real man! You can then buy a defender.

Second:- If your manual doesn't tell you your EKA code then a dealer will be able to do so, although your difficulty will be getting your disco to the dealer.

dont always have to take it to the dealer. when i needed one for the p38 i rang them with the details and they gave me the code over the phone :)

Thank you for all your replies I am very grateful.

I have the EKA and battery now on charge again.

As the fobs wont disarm the alarm until I reprogramme them, is there a way to connect the battery back up to allow me to do this without the alarm going off?

Thanks for your suggestion Tazz but have to keep the husband I'm afraid at the moment as he pays for the Disco!!

Thank you

Connect the battery and wait. After 30 seconds the alarm will stop sounding unless you open or shut another door. Let the alarm shut up and then try and re-synch your fobs.

A very big thank you to you all for your advice. I now have a Disco back in action with working fobs!!!

Thanks again :)
