Help me????

Well, asides from the obvious. . .

Have been away for the weekend, enjoying myself, but on return to my rangey it wouldn’t even unlock with the remote. Finally got it started via jumpstart.

I have replaced the battery recently and am fairly confident that it is/was fine and once started I checked the output from the alternator and it checks out.

That just leaves a short/drain on the battery???

Can anybody recommend a competent, range rover friendly auto electrician in the Cambridge area?

Before I forget, it’s a ’97 dse.

Blue skies,

Pat

Alas, both checkout.
There is current drawn from the battery when the ignition is off. . .
Can't remember how much, but will check later.

If you have current then there is an open circuit somewhere in the system. Try the door light switchs also the bonnet and if everything is turning off ie radio, fan etc and check the earths on youre car as it sounds like you have a bad earth allowing the battery to drain

There is more than one earth

Engine has two
battery has one
radio has one
Body has at least one
there will be many more on the wire loom

Oh have you got split charging by any chance ? as this may drain the battery

No split charging system, though have a dodgy sunroof which LR recon in down to a bad earth
