Hi Everybody
Just thought i would post this information, for the past 3 weeks everytime i open the vechicle i would get ALARM FAULT AND THE BLEEP until i started the engine, today the battery just about turned over the engine once ,recharged during today, just started up no problem NO ALARM FAULT OR BLEEP could it be down to low voltage?

Use a multimeter on the battery to test to see if it's drawing any current when the ignition is off. If not, the battery is on its way out.

Hi Everybody
Just an update the vechicle does not get used everyday, alarm fault showing , checked battery voltage 11.56 volts, charged overnight battery voltage 12.86 volts, no alarm fault showing, so i think a new battery as recomended be DATATEK thank you

Hi Everybody
On the subject of batteries! Is it advised or should i not consider fitting a 95AH battery in place of the 70AH currentley fitted, will the higher capacity have any adverse effects, as well as on my pocket!

Too small for the diesel, go for the 135AH 1000CCA €131.95 delivered which is the bigest that fits www.batteriemegastore.fr best price I found in France and with a 4 year warranty:D

Hi Everybody
Just thought that i would post an update, i fitted a new battery (YAUSA 95 AMP HR) voltage still fell over say a 4 to 5 day period, On filling up i noticed that the push switch for the filler cover was partially recessed (the spring return was not instant, some resistance)could this possibly be the souce of the battery drain?

I would take this occasion to wish all on the forum A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

It could, but I would have expected it to have smoked the solenoid. Headlamp wipers not stopping in the home position is another possibility.

Since having the car its spent alot of time sat on my drive not going anywhere because I work away from home and have a company van so only use it at weekends cos the wife doesnt drive...Battery drain...Over the last couple of days I have been having problems starting my old girl (2003 L322 Vogue 3.0D)....Firstly the engine was turning over just fine but no sign at all of firing. I noticed after only about 5 or 6 attempts (not all one after the other I might add) the battery started to dip, so I put it on charge til the following day. Connected battery back up. Then I noticed AIR SUSPENTION INACTIVE on the dash ???? Anyway turned her over and bang off and running first turn of the key....nicely I thought. Left her running and took her out for a spin during which I spotted the wife so stopped to pick her up but had to park up to do so and turned ignition off. Came to start again no go what so ever. After buggering about for an hour or so managed to get it towed home (yes I did put it in towing mode...fuse 37...). Battery dead again so off to Andrew Pages for a new one (Bosch 110amp £114... same as what was on.....changing it FFS thats another epic story lol). Got it changed AND still no go... AA has been out sprayed easy start all over the place... NO GO.....she is now residing in my mates garage awaiting diagnostic check or a big hammer !!!!!:(.........any idea's boys ??????

Hi All,
This battery drain issue seems a common problem. I have the same. New battery was fitted to my 2007 Vogue SE tdV8 last year and a new Starter motor at the same time as Main Dealer reported some issue with the solenoid, (seemed to work ok to me) all under warranty. Now I have the dreaded overnight mysterious random battery drain which is identified as a random 2A draw, always in the colder nights and not when temp is higher. As this seems to be random it is difficult in time and effort to find it. Not to mention expensive if main dealer involved. Anyone got any ideas for a rapid location for this fault, or experienced the same. Also has anyone repaired failed heated seat element in L322 as not warranty material and L/R don't expect their heated seats to last very long. Unlike our Korean cousins who offer a 7 year warranty on everything. My second vehicle is a Sorento and it works ALL THE TIME!!!
Thanks
Alan
