Hi just registered. Been a Landy owner for a number of years. However i struggle when it comes to electrics. After going through deep water next day battery drained. Few days on I can jump start it ok but does not want to turn over from key. Whats occuring!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the battery dead or is the starter motor partially seized? Try jump starting - if it won't turn over it's the starter, if it will it's the battery.

its was a new battery few monthes ago. Dont know age or condition of starter or alternator as i had a second hand 200 tdi fitted nearly a year ago. every thing was fine until i played in some deep water engine got well sprayed. I am wondering if starter has got stuck. what i dont understand is if its stuck how come it turns over with a jump leads start ?

Hmm - either your new battery is buggered (usually 'cos the place that sold it stored it for too long without charging it, I've had this problem before. My local Halfords are quite good for batteries, they are either good at keeping them or have a high turnover.) or the water is causing a short somewhere which is draining the battery. Fully charge the battery and connect via an ammeter (DON'T try to start it!) and see if there's any current drain. Depending on the vehicle there will probably be some drain (radio, alarm, etc.) but it should be way less than an amp. Much more and you have a problem.
What vehicle is it?
