Somebody told me you can fit a small solar panel to side rear window which keeps battery topped up with charge does anyone know of this and is there a risk of overcharging the battery

That is fine during the day, but when it gets dark early, you might find it as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

If its the RF it will just keep waking the BECM up in the night so unless I'm mistaken it won't keep the charge...best cure is dig deep and replace the RF like i did,touch wood no probs since

Also if the root cause is RF receiver, keeping the battery charged will just help it burn out your locks
