Well ma noises from the drive train seem to be getting worse. 1st 3rd 5th and now 4th all seem to make a metal scrapping sound at speed .

Its more like a bearing that's worn or something rubbing as the gears rotate inside the boxes. I noticed it when I bought it but its definitely getting louder

Oil levels are good. But me thinks somethings going to give up the ghost soon..........................and if I'm changing one or the other I'm going fur a new lump but they aint cheap.....Time fur beer .:beer2:and a think!

If you have tried uj and output flange and all seems okay then it is worth checking gearbox output shaft and transfer box input gear as cross drilled gear was introduced to reduce spline wear.

The clanking could be the above if nothing external.

Also check a frame ball joint as they knock

tisnt hard to change bearings in the box

Does it clank and knock when you lift off throttle?

Na no clonking banging but it does have what I,d call a kick when I lift off

might sound daft , but have you checked front uj ?

My front prop seems fine but for the sake of twenty quid I,m thinking that route. Been on google this morning checking threads on it.

Think I,ll remove the prop tomorrow and go fur a spin and see if the noise goes. Problem is the history fur ma wagon ain the best and some of the work carried out by the previous owner/seller is shocking. Cheers fur yur comments!:D
