Ball swivel swap

Howdy, new to the forum. I’ve got a good axel from a 1994 discovery 1(abs) but with bad balls and I have a bad axel from a 1991 defender 90(no abs) with good balls. Now, I found out the non abs balls don’t fit the abs housings but is it possible to have the abs axel all non abs parts from the ball swivels out, if I combine the two different drive shafts at the cv join? Or do I just buy new abs balls? Cheers.

I would say you can’t, the earlier axle CV joint is totally different, for all the messing about I would buy a pair of new ball kits for the axle you want to use,
