Bad chassis earth?

Thank you. I’m assuming that a normal heavy-gauge cable will be adequate here, direct to chassis, rather than the massive 200A type.
In other news, it was my works Christmas do last night and the headlights got their first proper test since adding the extra earth. Bloody hell! I would guess almost 100% better. They have gone from a dim brown glow to a proper light show, adequate for 60 on the unlit main road, and like a proper car (!). I’m really pleased with the difference. All for the cost of a fiver earth strap from Halfords. Beefing up all the earths won’t improve it much from this, I guess, but it will future-proof it.
I’ll report back when I have done the work, but that probably won’t be until the new year now. Many thanks to everyone who has helped me here.
