was drivin last night and my battery died on my thankfully some 1 stopped and jumped me(i knew my batter was buggered and the alternator was on its way out) but after 2 mins there was a loud band and my back box had split all the way down the side seam. i think this happened just after it backfired a few times was this an issue with not enought power causeing it to backfire or worse. i changed my alterantor, battery and back box today and it seems fine but should i be worried about summin worse causeing this ive had some 1 take a quick look and they said about the power causeing it to back fire but other than that he didnt have a clue

if yer injun died on you and you pumped the throttle to try and get it going , you would have put a lot of unburned fuel down the exhaust which would then bin lying in wait fer a hot thing to ignite it.. instant bang..
we had an old beford RL in NI which if you switch off the ign while doing abart 30mph then pumped the pedal a few times before turning ign back on, it used to backfire loud enough to have the locals diving over the nearest wall fer cover
