Evening,

I have a 300tdi 1998 R plate ES Discovery.

The interior is grey leather.

My problem is that I need to fit a car seat for my daughter. We have the a Britax which fits fine in our BMW tourer but when it comes to my Disco it just doesn't.

I have tried both behind the drivers and passenger seat but due to the movement in the clip the belt rides up and out of where the 'lap belt' should go resulting in the car seat slanting and not being held securely.

Can anyone suggest or recommend anything as we are keen caravanners but each time we go away I'm concerned the seat isn't as it should be.

Many thanks

Mark

Is it a young bairn seat that faces into the seat? We use them at work for transporting very young kids and some of our ambulances dont have long enough seatbelts,a nd you really have to ram the seat into the chair to get the belts to fit.

Hi,

If you have a youg baby, the only seat I could get to fit properly was one by britax, one called the rennaisance and the next one up of the same sort of design. These are the only seats recognised by landrover as fitting into the vehicle, and they will sell you one with a Landrove package and trim, for about £190, best search the web and get the cleverer one, about a £100 delivered. It is actually in halfrauds for about £140 but cant think of its name. anywho, I hope this is of some use...........

The chair we have is the forward facing Britax 'first class Si'.

Think I'll email them to see if they have any thoughts.

Many thanks for your input.

I had the same problem with a child seat in my 1991 Discovery. I had to trim the bottom of the child seat to sit on the wheel arch and remove the plastic stop lug on the seat belt.

Mothercare will look up your vehicle model and tell you which will fit.

Hi had the same probs with mine, what I did was buy two seat belt extenders one for each side and as I couldn't undo the lower belt point, torqued to much, I undid the fix point above the rear window and fitted them there which also lowered the angle of the belt across the chest of older kids. It gives an extra 18 inches of belt to play with and they cost a tenner each rather than spending big bucks on a new car seat for sproglet. The only modification I had to do was drill a slightly bigger hole in the end bracket of the extender. Hope this helps, regards.
