They all meet a certain specification. Doubt you'll notice any difference between the castrol and the comma.
Comma is a good reputable brand. As long as it meets specs in workshop manual you won't find much difference.

Oil - Hypoid - Castrol Axle EPX 80W-90 - 1 Litre - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk

Was looking for a descent oil for axles and transfer box and wondered if anyone has used this....
Hoping to quieten down the chatter in the boxes a bit. I have already got some mtf 94 for the main box.. not installed yet..
Am running comma ep 90 at mo but hoping to find something better if there is such a thing
Any recommendations gratefully received.

Keith

Comma EP90 is probably a better oil for that than 80-90. Sometimes you get a weep from the diff nose if the oil is too thin.

Comma oils are very good, been using them for over thirty years, never had a problem. Castrol are good too, but you pay loads extra for the name! ;)

I managed to pick up a 20 ltr drum for just over 50 quid plus delivery . No doubt the comma would have been cheaper for that amount

Descent oil? Do you have to change it when you want to go uphill?

I've gone for fully synthetic stuff in my diffs and t/f box, with an appropriate dose of zx1 which makes it feel like I'm now driving without the handbrake slightly on anymore!

Don't know if you guys can get Red Line oils there. We have been using them in many of the race and performance cars we own and in customers as well, no issues at all.

Gears change like they are buttered with no leaks. There is the MT for manual transmissions and MT 90 diff oil.

It's fully synthetic and have a great name. We used these in many older cars with some wear in the drive line and Red Line made it feel smooth as silk again.

We can get redline, though it's fonicatum expensium. I bought fairly cheap triple qx stuff and zx1. Don't think I'll improve on that combo for twice the money...
