Axel Check Straps

Just got a set of Axel straps (One long and one short) from pads and i cant find out which one goes on which side.
Does anyone know?

craddocks only seem tosell swb nad lwb straps, and not handed ones, you could try them in position and see if there is equal slack on each side

I have opted to put the long one on the side closest to the diff.
Not sure if this is right but it seams to be a good start.
