Hi , I have searched the forum but can't find anything on this and wondered if anyone can help.

I need to fit an auxillary power socket in the boot space of my '06 TD4.
I see that Land Rover do this socket as an accessory but wondered if the wiring loom already has the necessary connections.

Does anyone know if the wiring loom has a take off point for this already, if so whereabouts would it be in the boot?

Rather than spend the £30+ that Land Rover want for the socket I was going to get a pattern part from elsewhere, apart from putting an inline fuse in place , is there anything else I would need to consider when doing this?.

thanks for looking and any advice you can give.

Chris

thanks dazjam ...

I did a search on auxillary power socket , cigarette socket , aux power ... and got about a dozen threads come back but none actually to do with this ... don't know why that is but believe me , I search first and ask questions after ....:)

None of these actually answer the questions though so if anyone can help I would appreciate it ..thanks and cheers

AFAIK there is no wiring in the boot for the aux power connector it's in the back of the centre console.

Still it can't be a difficult job to cut and splice 2 wires!! Can IT???

Hi Redhand . thanks for the reply, I agree it isn't difficult splicing the wires but obviously it makes sense to check first and see if someone has come up with a better, safer and easier way of doing things; if there was a take off point already in the loadspace then it would avoid splicing for the sake of it.

cheers
