auxiliary lighting switch set wiring

Hi all i am trying to find out if i can wire my new spotlights up to these switches, but i am having trouble finding the cable run to wire it up to.

The switch itself illuminates when i turn on the ignition but does not do anything when i press it, has anyone used these switches and if so how did you go about wiring it up or is the wires etc all there and if so where the hell is it hidden ??

any help or advice would be most appreciated. and a cup of coffee to the person that can actually help me or i will donate £10 to help for heros if anyone can halp me out.

When i wired my led bar i just wired the switch to the fuse box. Wrapped the wire around the fog light fuse and called it good. No problems to date.

well chris, you've not given us an awful lot to go on, we don't even know which version freelander you have.

however, the auxiliary light switches are designed to go with the standard factory loom, which may be in place from new, or retro fitted as an extra. the loom will come in a couple of parts, one will go from the switch to the fuse box which is usually located under the steering wheel. there will then be an extra relay to plug into the fuse box, and then another loom section to go from the fuse box out to the driving lights.

the factory kits, although a bit expensive, are the absolute bollocks, and all connectors etc are in place, and the looms are exactly the right length, no messing.

by the sounds of it, the wiring from the switch to the fuse box is in place, or they wouldn't light up. However, they will light up whether the relay and wiring from fuse box to lights is in place or not.

I have a freelancer mk1 I have a switch on the inside just above the fuse box but can't seem to see where it goes to I have a relay and fuse in the engine bay but not sure if its to the tow bar
