aux heating

hello all.
i read on line that my hippo has got a auxiliary heat supply (petrol Kalahari) .not heated seats as they are half leather.
so went out this morning. started up turned the fan blower on to 3 or 4 .and the air that came out
was not cold. but no way could you call it hot.
is there some sort of heating element in the matrix and if so mine must be worn out.
or is just the fact air is pulled through the pollen filter and it just fills different

It should have a ptc heater, an electric element in the air box, alternative to the fuel burning heaters in the diesels.
Allegedly the reason why so many Vauxhall zafira's catch fire!!

PTC heater was only fitted to Td4 and not to the petrol engined Freelanders
