I'm looking into getting a raptor dash to house my headunit, a few gauges and over time plenty of switches for various lights, fan, winch etc...

I'd like to wire in an auxiliary fuse box on the rear bulkhead behind the middle seat (I have a truck cab) that way keeping things as tidy as possibly.

Is something like this any good?
Marine Grade Fuseholder

Do I just put a big live from the battery live to this and then this distributes things as I add them?

I'll get it bought! So just crimp/solder an O connector to the cable and bolt onto the battery terminals? I take it I'll have to drill a hole in my seat box?

Have you got a photo so I can see how you've run the wires?

Can't get a pic easily because I left it in the battery box and I have bucket seats fitted, but I think I will move it in the future to the bulkhead behind the seat. That or cut a door in the seatbox

Not sure tbh, I went into Maplins and asked for car battery cable.

Fitted battery terminal connectors to each end. Plugged into the fusebox then wired over to the battery.

I ran x2 40amp cables from the battery (with 40amp inline fuses), ring bolted to the battery terminal. The fuse box I got didn't have a common + so daisy chained mine instead of running individual cables (max 40a over 3 feeds x2 so max of 80amp as it stands). I can change this at a later date should I need to. Mine actually run out under the battery lid and through a hole in the bulkhead and is bolted to the rear of the bulk head (with thumbscrews). As you can see, this was midway through install (and it's still not 100% finished). Only just noticed I missed the heatshrink in the battery compartment. I'd advise if you are going through a hole, you protect the edges so there is minimal chaffing (same if you go through battery lid).

I've got one of those. Very well made in my opinion. Only prob is not all ring terminals fit on the live out puts both in terms of hole size (obviously) and overall external width of the terminal.

A cheap option is get an old disco fuse box. I used to have it all be hind the seats but changed to having all circuitry, compressor and inverter in a custom made box across one of the wheel arches.

I did something similar when I split charged mine.

I used the bigger one of these

inside the engine bay on the passenger wheel arch inside a sealable kitchen container. I wanted it high up and as water tight as possible as I used to wade a lot back then.

I also added a small aux fuse box just under the normal fuse box on a made up bracket. Basically I wanted to mimic how they are wired from the factory. I.e battery to large fuse fuse-board under the bonnet, and from there to the internal fuse box.

Regarding cable size, go for the larger if you can. I can't imagine you'll ever draw that many amps through it, but the spec says that will handle up to 100A per bank (of which there are two).

It might be worth investing in a 10m real if you ever plan to put an anderson jump start connector under the bonnet or wire in a winch one day.

Are you sure about putting it on the rear bulkhead though? Its any easy cable run from the battery, but a load of crap cable runs to the raptor dash. If your fuse board was nearer your dash, wiring the raptor dash will be a lot easier.

I thought about wiring mine nearer the dash. But most of the stuff I intend to use the box for will be in the rear anyway. It's only 1 more cable to run back from the dash, but appreciated lots of just 1 more adds up :)

I did think about this earlier, may put it in the engine bay now and run the cables through to the dash, will be right where I want it then...

I got a more or less identical fusebox off Ebay which was a bit cheaper than the Devon 4x4 one. I found the bulkhead behind the driver's seat the best place for it, as it was handy for my supplementary lighter sockets and my inverter which also fit neatly on the bulkhead too. I put a fuse in the live feed before it left the battery box too. So all the bits and pieces that live on or in the cubby box can be charged as we go along. It's not too bad running wires from there to the centre console, and at least it is in the cab so you can keep it dry (or maybe just not as wet).
