The thrash down the motorway is probably a good idea.
After changing the oil a few times (with miles in between) I drove it to London (about 230 miles), which seemed to cure the problem.
Since then a new issue has arisen, but I'm working on that one...

thats what im hoping a good rip down the motorway

am tearing my hair out with the ptc heater wiring , i think i may now have to leave it disconnected which i dont want to do

suprising how much u miss the car when its off the road

oh happy days, lolol

...only problem is these 5 k a years are mostly short inner city runs..;)
Same ere. Mostly short trips of 4 miles. I take mine the long way home every 2 or 3 weeks. It's nice to drive so I don't mind.

Has anyone tried some of that auto box cleaning fluid stuff?
I've seen plenty of people on the net saying "made no difference", just wondering if there are any successes.
I think by the time peeps start looking to do a flush, they already have problems and the auto has already suffered physical damage. Personally I wouldn't use a flushing liquid as you can't flush that out afterwards. Regular changes of oil for me. The oil should have cleaning stuff in it I think.

hi

far happier day, thks to u guys have now found all my wires, got the dashboard all connected

tommorow got to put all my side panels in from front to back, steering wheel, airbag , centre console, then the seats

steamed clean, hoovered all my seats and have come up a treat, used a hose on the rears and autoglym on the fronts

gained a huge amount of knowledge which may come in handy

blimey gassing again, should be able to have a good test drive in a couple of days and give the gearbox a good test out

shame alot of places off road are now closed and sold off as it use to be really good for test drives in the landy

mines now going towards 180,000 miles and done the oil 3 times, drained the best i could then left it for one month , then redone the same twice more

alot of dirty all came out but seemed to improve it each and every time

made sure i followed hippos write up to the t , ensuring the correct temp and used genuine ATF

i dont know how much it affects the box whilst the hippo sits for a few weeks on the drive and maybe takes a while to get round again and causing this sticking and takes a little while to free up again

will report back after the test drive , will plug my hawkeye in before and after the test drive to see if anything appears in the dtcs , as if it hangs should then point towards the identity of the problem
