Here is my situation:
While driving my 1995 RRover Classic I noticed that the "Engine Service"
indicator went "ON".
My first thought was O2 (oxygen sensor), as the engine works perfect, like a
charm, but I could not see any disorder in engine, it is working smooth and
perfect...
Any way I bought 2 Oxygen sensors, replaced them but still, the "Engine
Service" is ON...
Any one have any idea what else it might be....?
Thanks for your time and
Happy New Year to all of you
Arsene

What engine do you have ?

Depending on the engine and it's ECU there are a number of things that
will trigger the engine warning light including, but not limited to, the
speed sensor, Lambda sensor(s) one of the temperature sensors reading
out of range, Throttle position sensor reading out of range, MAF reading
out of range. The ECU is designed to cope with the situation as best it
can and will work around a faulty input.

Depending on the engine fitted and the actual age of the vehicle (as
opposed to registration year) you may have a diagnostic plug fitted - in
which case take the vehicle to a suitably equipped independant who can
interrogate the ECU and let you know what the recorded fault(s) are. It
is also possible that the ECU will need to have the fault codes cleared -
fixing the faulty item doesn't always clear the fault code.

Replacing items by "guessing" will cost a fortune and you may never know
when you have actually fixed the fault !
