Just back from the "fixers" in Inverness. They were given the job of investigating an oil leak from my new Ashcroft transfer box (a Defender). Job done, fault fixed, no cost to me.

The problem came to light immediately after the box was installed. I complained to Ashcrofts and, even though there was some doubt as to the cause, Dave immediately offered to have my local 4x4 garage sort it out.

There are lots of gearbox refurb outfits out there and I'm not saying that any one of them wouldn't do likewise, but Ashcrofts have reputation for excellent customer service and that's borne out by my experience. No fuss, no argument. Not often that anything positive gets put onto t'web - it's more likely to be a moan when things go wrong - so I thought I'd give the man a Thumbs Up.:)

Disagree
My Ashcroft refurbed R380, crunches into second and sometimes third, noisy too, off the road for a week to return the box to Ashcroft, declared ok.
Correct oil and clutch adjustment.......
I've had 150k milers that are slicker and quieter....
I wouldn't use again....
