Yesterday I installed my new ARB winch bumper and XD9000 Warn winch.

Looks fantastic and I will put up pics later.

I have not done the electrical yet as I need some wire extention to get to the battery.

The thing is, I mounted the winch as instructed.
It mounted directly to the back of the ARB quite easily with no modification, then I installed the bumper to the vehicle. All good.
I am now looking at the solenoid and the mount for the solenoid.
As the winch is mounted the solenoid will not be able to be mounted as the winch is on its side. For the mount to work the winch would have to be up and down, but that is impossible as the winch bolts up vertically on to the bumper.

I read on the web that I can take out the allens bolts from the side and rotate the winch to wherever I want it to be. this means that I have to take everything off again just to be able to mount the solenoid.

So my question is, cant I just mount the solenoid somewhere else on the bumper and leave the winch as it is?
I can get to the clutch release fine and its bolted up nice and strong with no modifications.

Thanks.

Assuming you have the non-bridged version, Yes mount it where ever you want, but you will have to have cables running from the solenoid to the winch. But keep the cables as short as possible.

That looks great!
I like how close it is to the front.
I have gained over a foot overhang in the front with the ARB:mad:
Kinda silly.

Do I have to run both the positive and ground from the winch back to the battery or just the positive?

Thanks.

I have run my positive from my battery and best to take the ground back, I took both my solenoid ground and winch ground both back with one massive 70mm2 welding cable.

Although when I bought it it was wired up a right hodge off the starter motor, it worked but don't do it.

OK, all hooked up and working .

What shall I try to do? Mud, sand, swamp, hill............. :)

NO FEAR
