Hi All,

I'm getting a 110 in a couple of weeks time, (just getting one or two things done before I pick it up). I'm interested in getting out and about a bit, but would need a few suggestions of good places, or groups I could join in with to get me started.

Any friendly folks out there, who are out and about in the Sheffield area, who would help me out?

Either as a passenger (before) or follower (after the middle of the month).

Having seen the number of obviously very capable land rovers heading out into the hills over the last week, evidently to help those stricken by the floods, I can't imagine that there is nobody on here from Sheffield and the surrounding area who goes out once in a while.

I'm from Barnsley. I'm in the same boat as you. I've asked before about folks from south Yorkshire and never got any response. I find it hard to believe considering how many Defenders and off road modded Discos I see.

Yeah, I literally saw 10-15 defenders heading into the hills that weekend, and all looked ready for action!! But I'm glad that there is at least one person on here from the area!

Err why not just meet up and go together? A couple of os maps and a bit of studying and away you go.....

It may be worth you and Pappasmurf linking up. Maybe one or both of you sign up to GLASS, you get access to TrailWise 2 which is probably one of the best sources for finding routes. Members also leave comments about condition etc, so well worth the membership fee.
Actually.....I'll need to renew my membership once I get my D2 mot'd and taxed :D
