Anyone got a dead blend motor?

Irishrover was kind enough to send me some uprated potentiometers so I can repair my blend motors. One of my motors however also has stripped cogs. Would anyone have a dead motor they wouldn't mind sacrificing so I can cannibalise the innards? You'd only need to post it to an address in Kent (as I've a friend coming down from there shortly), not Germany or Bangladesh. Beer tokens in exchange!

Cheers!

Might be worth measuring them as accurately as you can and checking this place out .. I used to use them when I was racing RC cars. Great quality and way cheaper than retail!

I believe blend motors are same as fitted to Peugeot 306 cars. Try a scrapper.

It's not just the potentiometers or cogs that wear out in the blend motors, as I just found out. My passengers side (LH) blend failed, now replaced. But while I had it unscrewed but still connected, I took it appart and it seems the electric motor had stalled, once I manually moved it a tiny fraction the unit seems to work fine. I moved it such a tiny amount the backlash in the gears didn't move the final output shaft nor change the position of the pot so I don't believe the pot had a worn or dirty resistance track or wiper. As it was removed and I had a new one, I wasn't going to chance not replacing it. Unfortunatley I threw it in the bin so can't forward it onto you :-(

Ah, well thanks for the thought Alan.

Tony and Nathan, so in the end which Pug, 306 or 405? Or either cos just a difference in wire colours? Mind that my existing motors are in Bangladesh so my mate in Kent can't exactly take one with him to the scrappy to compare!

Also if anyone wants to recommend a decent scrapper with a phone or email maybe I can do some of the legwork from here; ring and ask if they've got the part and so forth.

Cheers
