Anyone Decatted a Disco 2 V8

Hi, I have removed the internals of my cats in an attempt to decat the beast but leave the impression there are still cats fitted for MOT purposes
Heres the problem - it sounds like crap, all tinny and hollow
So, has anyone else done this with any success? if so how please?

So you are hoping that it will pass the emissions test with no innards in the cats? - unlikely

It's running LPG fella and as it will be presented for MOT running on gas it will be tested on gas and the emissions will be negligible, last time it showed a reading of 0.0003 so I'm not concerned about that aspect, I just need it too look like they are still fitted to ensure the visual element of the test is passed!

Might have to change the exhaust further back from the cats, i.e. big bore straight through etc. should get rid of the tinny hollow sound

My disco 1 V8 still has the cats but is straight through otherwise to a single pipe (going dual eventually - with X section in the middle of the truck). Sounds the dogs dooh dahs - Cats rattle a bit though. Will change them eventually. Problem with removing the cats is the lambda sensors, if you don't do something with them the Landy will thow a wobbler.

Should be Ok then from the emissions side of things, just make sure the MOT tester knows it's on gas and - no problem

That's the plan, just need to make it sound better, think I'm gonna get me another "Y" pipe and see if I can weld a pipe inside the cats!!
