Any ideas???

Aftenoon all,just wondering if anyone else on here has found anything like this in their cooling system? I was most puzzled when i took the thermostat off :wtf:

You have really hard/limey water in your area? If it ain't lime then someone probably used Rad Weld at some point.

It seems to be plastic,very brittle though. It really has me stumped as to what it is or where it may have come from,i think my motor has had some/a lot of engine work as the heads/block are really clean,but it had no service history whatsoever! Previous owner had no idea about cars,i bought it with a knackered water pump and a fairly bad oil leak,but nothing i couldn't fix!
I have lots planned for her ,a lot more than my OH,she just wants to tow a horse box with her!! :crazy:

I saw very similar spaghetti like residue after someone had used this as a cheapskate quick fix, albeit not a range but am sure would have the same effect in any cooling system Steel Seal Head Gasket Repair - Head Gasket Repair

Was thinking some sort of wad weld that might have lined the cores of the rad then worked loose??
