Any ideas thanks

Hi I'm not sure where I'm meant to post this or in the right place. Was wondering if any one could help, I have a 2007 110 xs I drove from my caravan at walton on naze to Romford, when my 110 developed a tapping noise would increase and decrease when revved in all gears Still ran ok. about a week later was on the way to Kent tapping was still there but was still running fine then hit m20 and tapping sounded louder then lost power pulled over and now won't turn over had to call breakdown out. Does anyone have any ideas

Sounds like a tappet came loose and worked it's way out completely ... Also could have been turbo, or indeed any rotating part in the engine ... Is the engine seized or is it just the starter won't turn it over?

So you didn't investigate tapping?

The engine would not even attempt to fire up when it lost power I started her today and the engine sounds awful banging away and a lot of movement. Someone I no is a mechanic and he said sounds like tappet he also told me as long as the oil was OK should be ok till I got it booked in as have been trying to find a good one in Essex area. I have tried a few from Internet but fully booked for like 3 to 4 weeks. Thanks for reply

Pop the rocker cover off and check the shaft, it may be broken...
