Any ideas? Ski Transportation!

What resort are you traveling to? Look up ski republic they do 2 for 1 on ski hire and if you take the top ones its this seasons brand new stuff.

If you have 'cheap' flights my assumption would be that this will be cheaper than the ferry, diesel, tolls, chains, resort parking that would come with driving. Tignes for example charge £100 for a weeks parking, theres your ski carriage right there. Plus what you would now loose in cancelling you flights! I dont get where this is going just pay the money to ryanair!

True, well, this year we're committing to flying, but the beauty of driving is sharing costs and having no limits of weight, what food you take with and flexibility in travel times.
But I see your point, it depends on the levels of research you do beforehand and what deals you spot.

Too much hassle, I reckon I've got the costs down enough to justify flying, and it will be a lesson to the mrs about the costs. For instance, I would have to buy some things such as snow chains, and before I go anywhere alp like. + for long distance, I want an engine remap and chip to increase efficiency, and then she can't stand the noise it makes, so we're looking at sound insulation, unfortunately, all of the above cost money, so by next year, when these are done, I'll drive and she won't have any (major) reason to disagree.

But i am willing to try give you some help other than to get a board.

I always take 2 boards with me and bindings too. The boards get taped together. And only one set of bindings left on. The other goes in my 'cabin bag' then all my cloths go in my board bag up to 15kg. And another 15kg hold bag. 2peoples gear can go in a single. Bag most of the handlers are only looking for bombs and stuff. So double up and don't worry. Once my other phone wakes up. I'll post a pic. Of how much you can get away with in a board bag.

I'd rather be a two planker ****er ;)
But I'm interested to see what you get in the board bag!
Skis are more awkward than boards I think though, I will have to figure out the best method of packing them up nicely.
