Hi All,

New to LandyZone, but not new to Landys in general.

I have a Discovery 1 (3.9efi V8 Auto - ES model). I have had her for 17 years, and now trying to decide whether to sell her or strip body off and covert her to more hardcore off roader.

Has anyone got any ideas of good conversion kits?

There used to be the "safari" from fourwd.org.uk but they seem to have gone bust.
I also know of the Dakar ones.

But any suggestions would be welcome, or if you are looking to buy a Disco 1 (mot until nov 19, 82k miles) let me know too.
Cheers

Dakar or if you wanted to convert it to a pick up then the Long Ranger kits make a fine job of the conversion.

Welcome to the zone.

Where are you based and what sort of money would you be wanting for it?

If you mod it. What sort of use?

As someone mentioned. Long Ranger do some pickup conversions. You could bobtail at the same time. They look pretty cool. But if yours is suffering the usual rust problems, this won’t address that.

If you want something a little more off road. Whitbread offer a kit. Looks pretty cool and would be great for Challenge or Pay n Play sites. But a bit more hardcore.

If you wanted to try your hand at competitions. The ALRC are in the process of allowing 100” wheelbase trialers. This means using a Whitbread cage you could build a coil sprung 100” Series look alike trials vehicle and even keep it on the road as the DVLA would seem it a body swap.

Make it look a bit Tomcat like if you wanted.

Or go the full hog and build a 100” Defender on your rolling chassis.
