Any body ever welded up a soft dash bulkhead??

juat need some advice as i have just bought (on the cheap) a very nice soft dash and the bulkhead requires welding.

the bulkhead inside the engine compartment at the back along the botom line of the bonnet. common soft dash thing apparently.

along that seam accross the top?

yes running along the top of the pedal box under where the bonnet hinges. its gone right the way across. im temped to treat and fill but some thing keeps telling me to do it properly.

just weld it properly and have done with it. dont waste your time filling it

yeak cut out the rust with a cut off wheel or grider and weld s strip in , it doesnt have to be flush, you could just lap it.

watch out you dont set the back of yer dash on fire, have soemone in the car with an extingusher whilst yer working!
