I went GS125, XS250, GS550, Z750L1 (still have, off the road at
present), GSX1400 (Current) and am thinking of changing the GSX for a
KTM640 if I can find a good one.

Wow lots of us have! I forgot to mention the Yamaha SR125, Honda Melody and
XL250S I shared with my wife who also passed her test and now drives our
Landy. My seven year old boys also have a Yamaha PW50...and they like landys
too.

I couldn't list all the bikes I've had (I'm 45 yrs old) because I raced
for a lot of my life, on-road, off-road, sidecars, and always had at
least two motorbikes, until I got married, then I stopped for a bit, now
we have them again so my sons can learn to ride 'properly' off-road ..
;)

In no particular order, just as I remember them, BSA Bantam, Kawasaki
KH250, Suzuki TS125, Honda XL250, Honda CR250, Suzuki PE175, Suzuki
TS165, Kawasaki H1 500, BSA 650 +750 Devimead, Kawasaki Z750, Maico 440,
Suzuki GS550, Suzuki 1100 Katana, Suzuki 1100 Katana, Honda CB900RR,
Yamaha RD 350LC, Yamaha RD400, Aprilia Climber Trials, Yamaha DT175,
Kawasaki KT250 Trials, Honda TL125 Trials, Honda XR 250 Enduro, Yamaha
TZ250 (a few), Yamaha TZ 350 (a few), Yamaha TZ 750, Honda CG125,
Triumph BonnevilleT120, Triumph Tiger, Various Triumph / BSA twins,
Suzuki Beamish 325 and 250 Trials, Fantic 307 Trials..

And god knows what else, there have been a few bitsas, there's also been
a few that only lasted a week or so and a few, like the Beamish that I
and my brother've had for many, many years. There've also been many
competition bikes that were never really mine, but which I was the only
person ever to ride.

Out of the above there are a few I'd like now, Triumph T120 Bonneville,
Kawasaki H1 500, Honda XR250 Enduro, Yamaha 350 LC, Suzuki Katana 1000.

I love the Beamish Suzuki 250 Trials we have, it's one I'll never part
with unless someone offers really stupid money, it has so many memories
of good times. Similarly I'd give stupid money myself (If I had it) for
a decent Kawasaki H1 again, I just loved that noise and 'feel'. A T120
would be quite nice too ..

One bike I _will_ have soon, I hope, is a Yamaha Fazer, I just like
their all-round balls, reminiscent of the LC yams .. ;)

Can't let that one go - my Disco Tdi 1992 does not leak any oil and has done
200k now.
TonyB

Before you ask - yes it's got oil in all the boxes!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The LC is one bike I would love to have now. In the 80's a friend had one
with Boysen reeds and Allspeed spannies and it was awesome! It used to
power wheelie in third gear, fantastic bike.

Yamaha two strokes are great fun machines.

Currently on a ZXR750 H2. Green of coursethe only proper colour for a
Kawasaki IMHO!

Wonder when the arguement is going to take in the size of Tony's people
carrier, or the fuel consumption of sports cars etc?

What's next to ban? Angling and Motorbikes?

I mechanic'd for Curt langan when he won the Yamaha Pro-Am LC series
final at Silverstone, many years ago, with a Stan Stephens engine. Stan
sent us an 'endurance' tuned engine and because it didn't arrive until
about 11pm I stayed up most of the night before the final races to swap
the engines and make sure everything was OK .. we had a load of trouble
with chain alignment and stretch when warm, which we never fully
explained or solved .. but Curt still went on to win .. ;)

I'm not that keen on the powervalve ones, it's one of the originals that I
want.

I've sort of half heartedly looked for one and not found that many about and
I'd want one that hasn't be owned by a wannabee Stan Stephens with a set
of riffler files and too much enthusiasm.

Heheheh, rocking horse ****, mate, rocking horse ****.

I luuurve rifflers .. the Beamish and Fantic Trials bikes I have now are
about the only two-strokes I've ever had (and the H1) that I haven't
'had a little fettle' with. ;)

They're probably the two bikes that might actually benefit from a little
de-tuning. I have made the Beamish flywheel a tad heavier with weights
and the difference in low-end plonking is really of good use ..

Hmmm - lemme see now;

BSA C15, Francis Barnett Plover 125, BSA A7, Ariel Arrow, Norton Big
4, FB AJS 250 Enduro.

My only vehicle now is a 300tdi 90 SW, although I'd quite like an
Enfield(India) Bullet!

Used to have a Kawasaki KH250 triple, when you seriously gunned it the
screaming banshee wail noise it made was the second best sound on the
planet. First being a v8, of course. ;-)
