Just thought I'd let everyone know about another scam doing the rounds. It's not Landy related but the more people who are aware of it, the less likely the thieving b*******s are to make any cash out of it.

The site it takes you to is impressively genuine looking (but only if you've got decent pooter protection just in case they have some of that key logging malarky!). I would post a link to it but don't want to help them out.

so did you click on the link and visit their site ?

we got one, asking you to give your bank details or your account is suspended, from the halifax, but the email says "[email protected]" on behalf of HalifaxPLC. and the web address it goes to is some java thing on a latvian website, and halifax aint even called that, some dense ppl around who fall for these!

The scam is not thought through very well, you WONT get a Tax refund unless you ask for it as my local tax office told me! I've been waiting since mid April for mine to drop through the letter box after writing and numerous phone calls!!....a 4wk backlog apparently...yeah right, more like squeezing all the interest outta my dosh.

I did as it happens but only on an old pooter at work that was about to be stripped and dumped. The wording didn't look right and when you hover over the link it went to a thievingscum.com address. I was quite impressed at how good the fake site looked including all the 'correct' links. It's quite easy to see how some people could be fooled by it especially if they're a touch greedy.

Don't matter - now they know the address they sent it to is up and running they will target you with more spam than you know what to do with - verified email addresses are a rare commodity in the world of the spammer!
