Greeting all,

So this is my new project,

as you can see, its in need of love among other things,

My first issue is the sun roof, the whole electric sun rook works bar one very important part of it, O/S rear part does not raise to meet the seal, since its rained heavily last night, i'm going to bet the new head lining its had is now wet, firstly how does it work ? (assuming its a runner of some sort) and secondly can it be repaired or is it a replacement job ?

My second issue is the engine, its done 160,000 miles, not bad as i'm the 14th owner, but when parking it, reverse causes it to stall when at low speeds, its had LPG at somepoint but its had new heads so no longer does any of the LPG equipment, do i need to adjust the idle or is the a bigger gremlin hiding ?

thirdly, the interior is a mess, most of it is broken/cracked, some switches work, the seats for example do not move, hoping a replacement switch pack can sort that, finding replacement parts is going to be a head ache, but hoping 200tdi interior parts are an easy fit, just need to find some of a decent quality...

So far, the cost of this is,

Vehicle, £1000
Fuel, £20
Drivers seat switch pack, £45
Cardboard to hold the sun roof up, free
Rear Mud flaps, £45
Silicon HT leads, £25
Valeo Coil, £20
Service items inc oils, £75
Complete suspension replacement, £235

Remaining budget for this year, £535

Good to see another being rebuilt, always enjoy rebuild threads. :) Sadly I won't be of any use for advice.

Does the air suspension work or has it been stuck on coils?

Came from factory with Air springs, unsure as to when it was converted to coils, however my main issue with the suspension is that the rear is on a +2 and the front is on standard height coils,

Only remaining parts of the Air suspension is the tank and the pump and some wiring, all other parts removed, switches and warning light still work though (replaced the bulb and then swiftly removed it!)

That's a weird combination of heights. Guessing they were at some point both on +2 but the fronts needed replacing and they stuck on cheaper standards.

Any plans (besides getting them the same height) for the suspension yet? Like removing the rest of the air or replacing the missing bits and restoring the air?

The Brooklands green ltd edition came out on a k plate on springs, the air suspension fitment to production was delayed because it was a bit breaky. I thought the first on air were registered L

Coils for now, just need to get the girl running right, returning it to how it was sold is on the agenda, but right now it needs to work and be safe, the coils are cheap Britpart HD +2 for now, cant fit Grabbers AT2 i had without damaging the arches sadly, bit of a shame but the tyres on it are bald so they will do for now,

Original sale sheet states it was sold with the complete wrap around bull bars, got some ordered via ebay and have driving lamps in a shed somewhere that will look ace (hella units)

This weekend it must earn its keep and haul a double mattress to the nearest recycling center, my 90 wont take it and the freelander has the girlfriend driving it to and from london,

Will say this though, make a awful bang on lift off from the rear, fearing its the transfer box (has a hairline crack and i havent checked fluid levels as of yet!) but odds are its the a frame,

I love old heaps of s#!£ :)
