i got to have another look at it again have chopped out the plug in the drivers side pillar so both sides now have good connections , i took the rear apart and the rf receiver was still plugged in , but key still wont sync , the central locking seems to work as it should ,doesn't show a disabled message on the dash but still shows code 27 anti theft in the engine ecu via diagnostics, have run through all the fuses again and all seem good , have noticed that the fuse box does smell like its got warm at some point tho
If you can smell burning it's a good chance that the fuse box is the problem, make sure you replace it with one from the same year and fuel type.;)

The fuse box did die in my other one but was completely different symptoms to this one so I'm kind of unsure as everything seems to be getting power

Sounding more and more like loss of sync of EMS to BECM.

If it smells of burning, it's toast, it need repairing or replacing

So I finally pulled my finger out and have ordered myself a nanocom probably a wise move really owning 2 p38's , I have been on the lookout for a new fusebox but land rover have no ETA on one and struggling to find one in stock elsewhere , anybody got a suggestion as to where I can find one , don't really want to get a used one if I can help it (it's for the 94-97)

I suspect Rimmer Bros might be your only choice.

Remember petrol and diesel are different.

Yeah, I only made that mistake once at the pumps when I was in my own little world. Cannot remember how many years ago that was but I still have some of the contaminated fuel left! Works in an old mower and for cleaning engine parts and starting fires.

You start fires with fuse boxes? Thought they did that on their own.;):D

Here you go
