Just when I thought I’d cracked it....
clearly I celebrated too soon After replacing my abs modulator and sorting the amigos as I noticed another small oil leak from the engine yesterday and the bottom of the auto gearbox housing is covered in nice black oily goo.
The leak seems to be coming from the back left of the engine (as you look at it from the front of the car) and the oil is pretty clear as it drips down (pretty sure it’s not FPR/diesel) - the drip is fairly slow and only after the engine has been running.
I can’t see anything obvious that’s leaking but need to look harder! the rocker cover gasket was changed by a local garage about 2 years ago - would it be worth replacing this again and the bolts “just in case”?
and what do you guys recommend for cleaning the old oil from the underside of the engine as it’s pretty gunky and black on the lower right side at the moment?
mot in just over a month so need to get to the bottom of if somehow! Hoping it’s not the rear cam cover...
