Hi there,
I've been visiting the forum for a couple of weeks now and you lot seem like a good crowd.
I had a problem with the wipers on my 200TDi 90, and Grunt was kind enough to post a useful reply for me - cheers.
I realised that I haven't introduced myself properly yet, so here goes.

I live down in Cornwall, on the fringes of Bodmin Moor. I currently have a 200TDi 90 - K plate, 85k miles (when er indoors lets me get at the digital camera, I'll post some photos).
I must confess that I don't use the Landy for everyday transport - I need something 100% reliable and comfortable on long journeys for that. I do use it every weekend and most evenings - I'm a keen shooter and amateur gamekeeper.
Previously I had 2 Freelanders, which I did use for everyday transport. Both were great cars to drive but a real pain as far as reliability is concerned.
The first - 1998 diesel - went through 2 gearboxes, 1 rear suspension, 2 fuel pumps and 2 heads in 60k miles.
The second was a V6 petrol - aaaaaaaaagh! 19mpg, intermittent sudden total loss of power (usually when overtaking), overheating and 2 full engines in 30k miles.
I have to say though, my local LR dealer never baulked - everything was done under warranty.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings - I look forward to participating more in the forum in future.

Not yet - I had to take my daughter back to Uni last weekend and I've been working late all week, so I haven't had a chance to have a go at it yet.

Anyway, what's wrong with wimmin? I love em all (well almost all) - especially if they're into Landys - dirty car, dirty mind....

Blooming 'eck, what did you do to them!?!

Cheers

Nothing more than drive them (albeit 30-40k per year). Fair bit of motorway and a bit of middlin off-roading at weekends. Isn't that what they're designed for?
With the V6, the engine failures were caused by overheating - once when the dealer left the electric fans disconnected after a service.
The rear suspension was a design fault on the early models - they were all recalled for a mod, but too late for me. It actually collapsed when I was carrying about 8 bags of corn across a stubble field and hit a small rut - the car was about 2 months old.
I'm afraid that I've been put off Landys for everyday transport now - I rely on it for my job. So I now drive something Japanese for work and keep my Defender for fun at weekends.

Hello again,
Finally managed to get the camera off of swmbo.
Here's a couple of pics of my truck.
