Oh well another first,
I have just bought myself my first freelander, a 2001 TD4 GS.
Have I done the right thing I hope so, ill keep it for a while and see how it goes
and a bargin too,
on Gumtree 2001 Freelander with intermittent starting fault £600, so ring up pop over and have a look, and it wouldnt start, the wifey said her husband knows a trick to get it going every time but he was out.
so arranged to go back the following night, and yes he had got it going and gone over to motherinlaws, and guess what when was heading off home it wouldnt start
so went over had a look and was told as its now a non starter i could have it for £500 PERFECT
So a quick look at it today and i realised the tank fuel pump had packed up, tested all the electrics just make sure.
so went to the local landrover dealer to enquire the price of a genuine one,
Well after half an hour on Oxygen from our friendly paramedics I recovered from the price £359.00.
so back to my favourite shop Fleabay £60 so a new pump is on the way
this is the best bit i still needed to move the vehicle, so down to the local caravan shop and bought a Whale submersible pump, back in the garage striped out the worn out pump plumbed in the new one and hey presto drove it home,( not sure how long this temporary fix will last but at least its home)
